With the recent establishment
of a
Securities Finance Group
,
we have expanded our global
trading platform. Based in
Toronto, and managed by
co-heads
Colin Jack and
Paul Potvin
, the group
operates by entering into
low-risk, hedged transactions
incorporating borrowing
and lending, with positions
in common shares, futures,
money market and fixed
income instruments, as well as
repo transactions in all global
markets. Colin Jack brings
22 years of experience trading
and structuring in equity
derivatives and securities
finance, and has worked
for major international
banks where he has been
involved in trading securities
from Canada, the US, the
UK and the Eurozone.
Paul Potvin brings 25 years
of financial market experience,
with trading and structuring
experience in equity
derivatives, securities finance,
fixed income and credit
derivatives, and has traded
securities from Canada, the
US, the Eurozone and Japan.
In Equity Research, we
welcomed
Gabriel Dechaine
as a Managing Director
covering
Financial Services
.
Gabriel has nearly 10 years of
sell-side research experience,
having spent the last four
years as a senior financial
analyst covering large-
cap firms in the Canadian
Financial Services sector at
a top tier global investment
bank. Prior to this, Gabriel was
a Partner at Genuity Capital
Markets covering the Canadian
Diversified Financial sector.
Eric Zaunscherb
joins as a
Director, Metals and Mining
with a focus on junior mining
and exploration, primarily
in precious metals. Eric has
more than 35 years of mining
industry experience, most
recently with Morgan Stanley
in London and previously
in the Vancouver office of
Canaccord Genuity, where
he focused on precious
metals, uranium, base metals,
diamonds and lithium.

Mark Whaling
has been appointed
Global Head
of Equity Sales and Trading
. In this role, Mark
will work closely with leadership teams across
our geographies to shape our global sales and
trading operations, as well as client coverage,
capital deployment and compensation. Prior
to this appointment, Mark held a similar
position with the firm as Head of US Securities.
Mark brings a strong record of success to his
new role, having grown our US market share
significantly over the past two years.
In Investment Banking,
Stephen Rusch
has
joined Canaccord Genuity as a
Managing
Director
covering the
Consumer & Retail
sector. Stephen will be based in New York and
will work on a broad range of assignments,
including public offerings, private placements,
and mergers and acquisitions advisory work. He
will focus his efforts on strengthening our firm’s
presence in the Health, Wellness and Lifestyle
segment of the consumer industry. More
specifically, he will specialize in growing food
and beverage companies. Also in Investment

Henry P. Williams
has joined the
